CLWG - Children's Literature Web Guide
This is an excellent site for finding information about children's literature.  It contains information and links to children's book awards, lists of recommended books, online children's stories, authors of children's books, characters and settings, current movie tie-ins, and discussion groups.  There is also information for parents, teachers, storytellers, writers, and illustrators.
Edgar Allan Poe's House of Usher
This site offers selected poems and short stories as well as serious research resources. It includes all of the Poe literature currently available in public domain.
Dave's ESL Cafe
Good English as a Second Language page.  There are ideas and lessons for teachers and all sorts of tips and activities for students.

Encyclopedia Mythica
This is an excellent site that covers mythology from numerous cultures.  Very complete and easy to get around.
Jack London Collection
This site includes a biography of the author, links to his literature, audio and visual files, and links to other sites about him. There is a specific link in the research aids listed on this site to an essay devoted to the history of the criticism of Call of the Wild.

Visual Thesaurus
This site provides a wonderful visual look at the webbing between words in a thesaurus. An excellent site for the truly visual learner.

This site includes all of the Arthur Conan Doyle stories which are now in public domain.  There are also links to other Holmes and Doyle sites.

KidPub - Publish your story on the Internet
This site encourages young people to write and provides a place for them to publishe their stories for free.  To date, KidPub has collected more than 11,000 stories by young people from around the world.
